Laurence is the founder of Curran Law PL. Laurence began his legal career in New York in 1987 with the prestigious transportation law firm of Kirlin, Campbell and Keating and for 10 years thereafter practiced extensively in commercial law - handling state and federal litigation and arbitration cases for both plaintiffs and defendants involving claims of all sizes - including many multimillion dollar matters. Thereafter, founding his own firm in New York in 1997 and eventually opening an office in Miami in 2003, Laurence has continued to handle commercial law matters as well as representing numerous investors who had lost money through negligent or fraudulent investments.

Education

Some of the highlighted investment cases that Laurence has and continues to work on for numerous clients are various claims related to the billion dollar Ponzi scheme frauds of Bernard L. Madoff and Francisco Illarramendi.  In addition, Laurence represents investor clients in FINRA arbitrations, investors who purchased ESFIL bonds and has pursued a multi-million dollar recovery from a subsidiary of Espirito Santo Bank (now known as Brickell Bank).  Currently our firm is representing investors with losses from Credit Suisse AT1 bonds investments. If you invested in that product and are interested in discussing options to recover your losses from your financial advisor, bank or any other entity that may be responsible for the loss, please contact our office.

In all matters, Laurence represents individuals and businesses who are looking for a lawyer to assist them with their legal issues in a cost-effective and efficient manner with tailor-made legal strategies. Laurence has spent the last 30 years working with clients from all over the globe – particularly Latin America, Europe and Asia. Based on his professional experiences, he is especially conscientious of the unique concerns that each client brings with them when seeking counsel to resolve a legal problem - whether seeking millions from a breach of contract or seeking the best way to organize a new business.

Laurence's clients include entrepreneurs, small business owners and startup Internet and technology companies as well as more traditional industries like aviation and shipping. Accordingly, he has familiarity with trademark and copyright issues as well as all matters pertaining to business - such as insurance, contracts, real estate and credit issues. In addition, Laurence is frequently retained by creditors to collect debts and often pursues those collections through representation of the creditor in the federal bankruptcy process when required.
